Terms
Terms of use.
Last updated June 3, 2026
These terms cover your use of ScrubShot, a screenshot app for macOS. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use ScrubShot.
Your license
I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ScrubShot on Macs you own or control. You may use it for personal or commercial work. This is a license to use the software, not a sale of the software itself.
You may not resell, rent out, or redistribute the app, or pass off copies of it as your own. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except to the limited extent the law expressly allows despite this restriction.
Trying ScrubShot
ScrubShot is free to try. Any future paid version, pricing, or trial terms will be set out clearly at the point of download before you are asked to pay anything. Until then, you may use the app at no cost.
What you create with it
The screenshots you capture and edit are yours. I claim no ownership over them and never see them, because the app does not transmit them anywhere. You are responsible for what you capture and for sharing it lawfully, including respecting the privacy and rights of anyone shown in an image.
Acceptable use
Do not use ScrubShot to break the law or to capture material you have no right to capture. The scrub tool is a convenience for hiding sensitive detail; it is your responsibility to check that an image is genuinely safe before you share it.
No warranty
ScrubShot is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. I do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. You use it at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to the app and these terms
I may update ScrubShot over time, adding, changing, or removing features. I may also update these terms; when I do, I will change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
